D’KARANG HOME STAY

COMMUNITY RURAL TOURISM OF UNDISAN VILLAGE, BANGLI

JAN’S TOURS & TRAVEL and D’KARANG HOMESTAY have created a special 2 nights and 3 days package, for guests to truly experience the Village Lifestyle in Undisan Village, in Bangli, with a stay in the private family compound at D’Karang Home Stay, and enjoy daily activities with the family members.

The journey to Undisan Village will take you to the heart of the Balinese culture, while following the curved tracks, through remote villages, exploring the sites well preserved from the tourism industry. You     will discover the sacred architecture and the sense of the indigenous religion, while hiking through the villages, and being present unexpectedly in the local party and procession.

 

DAY ONE : TRANSFER TO BANGLI (UNDISAN VILLAGE) BY A UNIQUE VW (VOLKSWAGON) SAFARI CAR

Guests will be picked up at the hotel, and transferred by the unique VW Safari Car to Undisan Village, in Bangli. On the way, you will visit the following interesting places :

PENGLIPURAN VILLAGE : Is a traditional village in the countryside, with unique characteristic in lifestyle, socializing and culture.

KEHEN TEMPLE : Built in the 11th century in a terraced mountain sanctuary that was the site of an earlier temple that dates back to the 9th century.

Lunch will be served at a local restaurant with special menu of Fresh Water Fish.

Continue your journey to the Village of Undisan, where you will stay in a local family’s private house, “D’Karang Homestay”. You will see the architecture and the compound of a Balinese house and participate in the daily activities of the family members, such as cooking together to prepare the family dinner.

DAY TWO : FULL DAY RURAL ACTIVITIES WITH THE VILLAGERS

Enjoy a traditional breakfast at the homestay.

After breakfast, experience the local activities with the villagers, to see :

VISITING VILLAGE SCHOOL : Interact with the children at the local school (we advise to donate stationery such as pencils, pens, exercise books, rulers etc).

TREKKING : Enjoy trekking through the rice paddies and visit the natural water fall.

FARMING : Walk to the farming area and see how to be a “local farmer”. You will participate in farming activity from cultivating the rice fields by using cows and planting the rice. After the farming activity, enjoy a short break with refreshment of traditional Balinese cake and fresh coconut fruit. We will then go back to the village and see the activities of the villagers, like making artificial flowers. Your Lunch will be prepared at the Homestay, with a delicious traditional menu.

MAKE COCONUT OIL : After lunch, you will be showed the process in making coconut oil : how to open the coconut skin, scrape, squeeze out the coconut milk and cook with firewood. The original coconut oil can be used for massage therapy, treating burns, insect bites, and can also be drunk for the treatment of flatulence.

Your Dinner at the Homestay, will be prepared by the family and will consist of a traditional Balinese menu.

DAY THREE : TRANSFER OUT

Traditional local breakfast at the Homestay.

In the afternoon, you will be transferred your next hotel.

A ONE DAY PROGRAM TO EXPERIENCE ACTIVITIES WITH THE LOCAL VILLAGERS

·         08.30 am :  Guests will be picked up at the hotel, and transferred by the unique VW Safari Car to Undisan Village, in Bangli. ·         Upon arrival at Undisan Village, you will commence on a trek through rice paddies and a visit to a natural water fall.

·         You will then walk to a farming area and see how to be a farmer. You will be able to participate in farming activities, from cultivating the rice fields by using cows, up to planting the rice. After finishing the farming activities, you will enjoy a refreshment of traditional Balinese cakes and fresh coconut fruit. We will then return to the village and see the activities of the villagers, like making artificial flowers.
