“SEE INDONESIA IN ONE AFTERNOON”

AT TAMAN NUSA, INDONESIAN CULTURAL PARK, BALI



JAN’S TOURS & TRAVEL
and TAMAN NUSA, BALI, have created a unique program to see the special highlights in Gianyar village, followed by an afternoon to explore Indonesia at TAMAN NUSA.

The Full Day Program (9 to 10 hours), for a minimum of two people, includes the following exciting and interesting activities :

Pickup from hotel by our English speaking guide, and transfer in an air-conditioned vehicle, and then head inland to Gianyar, taking quieter rural roads, and passing traditional villages. Visit a traditional house compound, to see the unique Balinese housing style with it’s various pavilions for sleeping, cooking, religious ceremonies etc. Followed by a visit to Batuan Temple, a local Balinese Hindu temple located in Batuan, and founded in the year 944 isaka (1020 AD). Nearly 1000 years old.

We will then visit KEMENUH BUTTERFLY PARK, with it’s Mission to protect this remarkable creature, with three aspects that can be found at the park : conservation, education and attraction. The background of the park is spectacular rice fields and tropical environment. The park, as the habitat of the adult butterflies (imago), is designed in such a way based on the insects needs. The park collects some different variety of butterflies. You can see and observe them feeding and flying all around.

Following the Kemenuh Butterfly Park, we will visit the Gallery of a well known Wood Carver, IB Marka, located nearby, and also see the Batik Showroom.

The journey continues to TAMAN NUSA, a 15 hectares cultural park that aims to offer a comprehensive information on the culture of Indonesia’s various ethnic groups in an attractive and interactive way, while enjoying the natural beauty of Bali. Enjoy lunch with a selection of local Indonesian delicacies at the open-air Dapur Nusa Restaurant. After lunch, explore and experience Indonesia’s journey throughout the ages, beginning with : Prehistoric Era ; Bronze Age ; Kingdom Age (including the Borobudur Temple) ; Cultural Village (with more then 60 traditional houses, some of which are hundreds of years old) ; Early Indonesia (including the statue of Prime Minister Gadjah Mada) ; Indonesian Independence (with the statues of Proclamators Soekarno and Hatta) ; Present Day Indonesia (miniature train diorama) ; Future of Indonesia (a library and 3 museums that showcase the various cultural heritage and legacy of the nation such as wayang, batik, weaving and embroidery. At the end of the journey, visitors are treated with the scenic view of a cliff, overlooking verdant rice terraces and lush jungle, with the waters of Melangit River rushing below.

Our program today, will end at the busy and exciting PASAR SENGGOL in Gianyar city, with a variety of stalls selling traditional Balinese food and cakes, clothing and toys. A fun experience to try the local cuisine, amongst the local people. Late afternoon, we will return to your hotel.
